BANKRUPT BANKER

Mohammed Sheikh was sentenced to 15 months in prison for eight fraud offences relating to housing benefit claims, income support claims and mortgage fraud in February 2010, reported Bedforshire News.
During the investigation, Bedfordshire Police also found that Sheikh's brother, Mohammed Zaki Sheikh, had also committed mortgage fraud.

Both brothers' mortgages were brokered by London-based firm Gillies St Juste, which has been responsible for similar frauds in the past totalling £1.5m.
Mohammed Sheikh was revealed to have claimed benefits from Luton Borough Council and the Department of Works and Pensions, while also faking details to gain a loan from a mortgage company for a house purchase.
As a result of the fraudulent house purchase, Sheikh made £265,100.
Last week, a confiscation order was made for £67,131, Sheikh's current assets, to be paid to the Department of Work and Pensions and Luton Borough Council within six months.
All were jailed by Luton Crown Court last year.
