U.S. Marshall's have put the seized former house of prominent Democratic donor Hassan Nemazee on sale for a whopping $28 million - 20 million more than mega Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff's own confiscated Manhattan property.
Hassan Nemazee, a top political fundraiser for U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is doing a 12 stretch in prison
Potential buyers are treated to a 'rare opportunity' according to the Sotheby's listing, with the two story Park Avenue address boasting enviable balcony views, a sumptuous interior and a 'butler's pantry' to station your very own Jeeves.
Mr Nemazee is currently serving a 12 year sentence after admitting to fraudulently applying for a loan of over $74 million from Citigroup.
The former multimillionaire Iranian-American investment banker - who fled his country's revolution in the 1970's - was accused of other frauds totalling over $100 million when he was arrested in August 2009.
The Sotheby's listing describes the duplex apartment as being 'what every New Yorker is looking for'.
It says: 'This splendid, sun-drenched five or six bedroom apartment...[has] magnificent entertaining space with wonderful room proportions and lofty ceilings, including a grand corner living room with three windows and fireplace, and amazing open views over Park Avenue.
'The corner dining room is perfect for glamorous entertaining, and an elegant library with beautiful built-ins rounds out the sweep of public rooms.
'Also on this level is a windowed kitchen, butler's pantry, and a family room or bedroom.'
'Ascend the lovely curving staircase from the gracious gallery to the private quarters of the apartment.'
And for those in need of a little extra room, the apartment comes with a storage unit, wine cellar and a 'state-of-the-art' gym.
The financier was well known as one of the top political donors in the US, giving more than $80,000 annually to Democratic political candidates.
Former president Bill Clinton nominated Nemazee to be ambassador to Argentina during his presidency.
The businessman served as finance chairman to Hillary Clinton's 2007-08 presidential campaign, and donated the maximum $50,000 to president Obama's presidential Inaugural Committee.
In 2004, he was a major contributor to John Kerry's run for the White House.
Whoever buys the property can look forward to spectacular views
The two story apartment even comes with its own wine cellar and gymnasium
Things fell apart after the 61-year-old boss of private equity firm Nemazee Capital was convicted of scamming $292 million out of Citigroup, HSBC and Bank of America.
Part of the scam involved convincing HSBC that he had collateral in the form of 'safe' debt securities bought from the US government, known as Treasury Notes, when he did not.
Coincidentally the listing, which is posted on the U.S. Marshall's homepage, is just below a post advertising the sale of fellow fraudster Bernie Madoff's extensive wine collection.
The apartment is valued a staggering $20 million more than that of fellow fraudster Bernie Madoff
According to property experts, the $28 million asking price is right at the top end of the valuation.
The nearest any apartment in the block has come to matching that asking price was a five bedroom flat that sold for $20 million in 2007.
In March an apartment in the prestigious block sold for a comparatively measly $4.7 million.
