Nogales mayor, father released from jail Friday night - KOLD News 13: "Nogales Mayor Octavio Garcia-Von Borstel and his father, Octavio Garcia Suarez are happy to be out after spending 10 days in jail.
Pima County Superior Court Judge Deborah Bernini reduced the father and son's bond amounts considerably, essentially paving the way for both to be released Friday evening from the Santa Cruz County Jail.
Charged with a host of offenses ranging from money laundering to fraud to bribery, bond for both men was set last week at $250,000. But Friday afternoon, Judge Bernini reduced the amounts to $10,000 for the mayor's father and $50,000 dollars for the Garcia-Von Borstel.
Only a percentage of these amounts need to be posted in order for both men to be released."
