Links to Michael McGurk in fraud charges Herald Sun: "man inside the Cremorne mansion the night Michael McGurk was shot dead was yesterday named in court as having allegedly processed a $1.4 million loan obtained fraudulently. McGurk's business partner and friend Clinton Sarina was named in a police statement that was tendered during a bail application by John Andrew Hamilton in Sydney's Waverley Local Court yesterday.
Hamilton , 57, from Victoria faced court charged with using doctored pay slips to secure three loans worth a total of $2.4 million between December 2005 and April 2007.
Police documents describe Hamilton as being a 'loan mule' and part of a wider and more sophisticated mortgage fraud network involving 260 people, including McGurk.
He is the 12th person charged by Strike Force Apia detectives. Mr Sarina is alleged to have brokered a loan application for Hamilton. He has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing"
