Popular Spanish singer could face jail time in Marbella corruption trial

The Canadian Press: Popular Spanish singer could face jail time in Marbella corruption trial: "A judge has told popular Spanish singer Isabel Pantoja she faces more than three years in jail on money laundering and tax fraud charges.
Authorities allege Pantoja colluded in a scheme run by her boyfriend, former Marbella mayor Julian Munoz, to provide building permits in the southern resort town in return for bribes.
Investigators claim Pantoja was involved in laundering at least €1.8 million ($2.5 million) from the scheme between 2002-2003.
A judge summoned Pantoja to court Thursday and told her the prosecution wants her jailed for three-and-a-half years. He said she must pay €3.7 million ($5.2 million) in bail within 24 hours.
